100 WC #3 Week #37

I was lying down in the lush green grass, the sun streaming into my eyes, filling me with warmth. It was a lovely day and I was chilling out after a long week. I was with my Mum and Dad and we were just relaxing in the amazing sunshine. We were at the park and it was packed with families all around us, but then the weather changed dramatically and clouds formed over our heads and rain started pouring down. Instantly, people ran for their cars, in the hope of finding cover. We were completely soaked. What a great weekend.

100 WC #2 Week #33

I sat on by bedroom window, looking out on the storm, rain crashing down on the roof, splatting the windows. I was home alone, my parents had gone out somewhere in town. It was 2 hours since they said they would be home, but they never came. I was scared out of my wits. What was I to do? Then a loud BANG! sounded. Thunder. Then the lightning, in the flash of lightning I saw the outline of a figure, about 10 meters away from the window, then a head pounced up and gave me the fright of my life. I screamed.

100 WC #1 Week #30

I gagged. Yuck. Brussel Sprouts. It was another rainy day and things couldn’t get any worse, I had already landed face first in a puddle of mud. I wanted to vomit, I just couldn’t eat something so slimy and horrible and gross and a million other yucky things combined. “Do I have to eat my Brussel Sprouts?” I ask Mum. “Well if you want Dessert, Yes you do.” Oh Well… I will finish what I have started. I will eat it. I prod my fork into the slimy green ball. Here goes nothing. Chomp. Chew. Actually, that wasn’t so bad…

Easter @ Castlepoint

During Easter, our family went to Castlepoint with 3 other families and stayed there for 3 nights. We stayed in a three story house a stones throw away from the beach. This is a photo of the house:

We did many exciting things during Easter but sliding down massive sand dunes with a boogie board at extreme speeds was by far the best. It takes a while to get to the top but it is definitely worth it because zooming down a massive hill was AMAZING!

We also had an Easter Egg hunt and my little Brother won the big prize and he was over the moon. Everyone thought that Will was going to get the prize because he had found 9 eggs so he had a HUGE chance. But he didn’t. I only found 3 eggs so I only had about a 1% chance of winning…

I really enjoyed going to Castlepoint and I would love to go back there sometime. We were lucky that the weather was great or we would have been stuck inside all Easter! I think it was my favourite Easter in my whole life.

#STUBC Global Issues – World Starvation

If you haven’t already noticed how lucky you are, you must be missing something. You know how when you get home from school you grab a quick snack from the overflowing pantry? 12% of the worlds population can’t even have a decent breakfast. Some people don’t even get food for days. And if we don’t do something, we will lose that 12% of humanity.

It is weird because half of the world have an obesity problem and half of the world is starving. Something is wrong here. Here are 5 facts on World Starvation:

1. Every day, 21,000 people die from hunger and hunger related causes.

2. Worldwide, there are currently 795 million people starving.

3. In Sub Saharan Africa, 1 in 4 people are hungry.

4. 2 Thirds of the worlds hungry people live in Asia.

5. About 1 Fifth of all children under Five are undernourished.

UNICEF says that 300 million children go to bed hungry every night, and if we don’t solve this problem, that number will rise rapidly.Image result for hungry people
